The European Film Academy has announced that the films of Bence Fliegauf, Lili Horvát, and Dénes Nagy have been shortlisted for the European Film Awards.

“As, due to the epidemic, several major film festivals have been postponed, this year the Academy has decided to announce the shortlist for the European Film Awards in two stages, with forty films selected in the first round”—writes film.hu.

The world première of the film by Lili Horvát, Preparations To Be Together For An Unknown Period Of Time, was at last year’s Venice Film Festival.

Dénes Nagy’s feature film Natural Light made its debut at the 71st Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Silver Bear Award for Best Director.

Forest—I See You Everywhere, a film by Bence Fliegauf, also premiered in Berlin, where one of the film’s cast members, Lilla Kizlinger, was awarded the Best Supporting Actress prize.

“Hungarian films are competing for the nomination with films such as Romanian Radu Jude’s Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn, the American Promising Young Woman, or the Danish Riders of Justice,” the portal adds.
